Synthetic metadata and marker files only. These fixtures are not validated Procreate documents. No artist loss, iPad import, restoration or complete backup run was tested.
An automatic filename rule can erase a distinction between two names. In this captured Procreate backup-rebuilding script, ASCII conversion and minute-resolution timestamps map café and cafe to the same output filename. Its ZIP write mode replaces an existing file.
| Input title | Explicit timestamp | Generated title / filename stem | Output existed before call? | ZIP marker after call |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| café | 26.10.23-05.29 | 26.10.23-05.29 cafe | False | FIRST invented payload |
| cafe | 26.10.23-05.29 | 26.10.23-05.29 cafe | True | SECOND invented payload |
| cafe | 26.10.23-05.30 | 26.10.23-05.30 cafe | False | CONTROL invented payload |
The first and second inputs target 26.10.23-05.29 cafe.procreate. After the second call that path contains the second marker. Moving the control's timestamp forward by one minute gives a separate output. Three invented source folders leave two ZIP outputs.
The saved Python probe calls the captured script's naming and archive functions on minimal invented plist folders. It reads back each ZIP and checks its marker and CRCs. Twenty-one assertions passed. Each archive write finishes, then the function raises an error because the macOS SetFile utility is unavailable. Unmodified main separately fails on Linux's missing st_birthtime. This is an extracted-function test, not successful full-application execution.
The source is Procreate-Exporter / export_procreate.py. The captured 9,317 bytes match Git blob 737534bd2e157a8b26a9de02b6f73bc16ada63cb. That identifies this file's content, not a complete commit or a claim about a current release. This script rebuilds unpacked backup archives and rewrites internal titles; it is not established as a Gallery renamer.
Review the complete proposed input-to-output mapping for duplicate output paths, including names already in the destination. Keep independent originals and verify restoration in the intended application. A valid ZIP and a plausible filename alone do not prove that artwork can be restored.
This page does not run the script, rename files or provide a repair. A narrow overwrite-refusal candidate remains private because source-title mutation, error handling, partial outputs and application compatibility are unresolved.
